Sparkle Aplenty

When Graff opened its first American boutique on Madison Avenue eight years ago, it literally stopped foot traffic with its glass façade and enormous diamonds in the front windows. It was a big departure for high-end jewelers, who typically concealed their impressive wares behind closed doors. Once again, diamond mogul Laurence Graff is exciting New Yorkers with his newly unveiled luxurious flagship designed by architect Peter Marino. More than two years in construction, the three-level, 4,000-square-foot store presents an extraordinary selection of diamonds and jewelry starting at $15,000. The VIP salon the third floor is designed like a living room with a sofa and club chairs adorned with fur pillows, and a large portrait of Graff outlined in loose diamonds by Vik Muniz, a fitting portrayal of the man often referred to as the King of Diamonds.
