Oliver Peoples Zooey

March 31, 2009

Given that Oliver Peoples’ new summer frame is called the Zooey—as in actress and singer Zooey Deschanel, who co-designed them—you might assume they’re for women. You’re not wrong: Women will certainly wear them, but the heavy plastic frames look good on a man’s face, too. (We know—we’ve been wearing them all week.) The metal detailing on the temples and the slight brow-line curve give the frames a retro (but not dated) feel. In fact, there’s only one problem we can think of: how to keep the woman in your life from stealing them.

Stephan Schneider Rain Jacket

March 31, 2009

Given the speed that the internet moves these days, it’s pretty easy to forget about a collection by the time it’s reached stores. Stephan Schneider’s SS09 collection is a prime example of this, but we felt that this jacket deserved more attention. Out of all the rain jackets available now – and there are a lot – we feel that this is one of the best out.

Topman Trilby Hats

March 31, 2009

Recession safe pricing from Topman. Their beginning to make waves on US shores not only through the online market but with their distro through US doors in New York and beyond. We will not compare them to the other box brands which have successfully landed and worked on U.S. shore. They are a brand of their own. Now back to some product – their collection of Trilby hats are very reasonably priced and will fashion you proper for the post-mod world.

Sand Spring 2009

March 31, 2009

Fashionisto points out some excellent views from Denmark’s SAND line for Spring 2009. The Copenhagen based fashion house presents very well tailored looks for the European man. Slim fits and shine on the textiles make them appealing and fresh. Note the fresh florals and accessories. More to come from this line.

Ally Capellino for Apple Laptop Sleeves

March 31, 2009

Ally Capellino has been collaborating with unusual companies for a while now – first with tate, now with Apple. Most bag companies make products with clothing companies, but Capellino seems to be bystepping them in order to collaborate with companies who need bag makers more than most. Her Apple collab isn’t exactly new – it’s been on sale on the Apple store for at least a month – but these sleeves won’t be available till April.

B-Store Natural Tan Brogues

March 31, 2009

Brogues have come back in a huge way recently. B-Store’s version comes in natural tan, so you can give it a worn-in look yourself. The brogue-ing used in this shoe is known as the American way of brogue-ing, so it’s a little surprising that the quintessentially English B-store have chosen this method. We do have to say that we prefer the English way of brogue-ing, but that’s all just us.

Narrative AW09 Laceless Oxfords

March 31, 2009

It would seem like laceless shoes are destined to be the next big thing come AW09. Narrative have shown us their AW09 collection and we thought we’d bring these oxfords to your attention first. As we’ve mentioned before, Narrative’s shoes are now made in the same factory where Alexander McQueen’s footwear is made so the quality has been upped another level. Look out for the full collection later on this week.

TAG Heuer Monaco Twenty Four Concept Chronograph 40th

March 31, 2009

Le Mans baby! Here’s a banger from Baselworld 2009. TAG Heuer is celebrating 40 years of the Monaco model with this Twenty Four Concept Chronograph Anniversary piece. The square face is a simple killer. “The large-faced, black-textured dial bears an oversize “24″ at 12 o’clock, in honour of the 24 of Le Mans, and the iconic blue and orange livery of Gulf Oil – the same colours TAG Heuer Ambassador Steve McQueen wore in his 1970 film classic, Le Mans.” Provide, please.
